後來我才知道，專輯就是要從頭聽到尾，對著歌詞才能觀察出一整張專輯的脈絡。過去彈吉他不太注意歌詞，只知道狂練樂器獨奏，直到練了三年後遇到了瓶頸，特地去上吉他課後才發現，規律的旋律進行也是必要的（例如古典金屬樂中可期待的分解和絃華麗感）。而直到最近在研究歌詞時（其實是因為懶得拿起樂器來彈了，畢竟繭全掉了，玩個半小時就會起水泡）我才發現，人聲與歌詞的詮釋才是感動大眾的核心。我是不是太晚知道這個重點？人生老是在捨本逐末，追求深奧但卻沒什麼人在乎的技巧（而且深奧的東西其實也只是自己硬練出來的，觀念根本不甚了解，內容也忘得差不多了）。
昨夜又失眠（其實是為了翻譯歌詞，生活坐息亂掉了），一直在思考我的人生究竟遺漏了什麼。如同蔣梅爾的Something Is Missing一般，感覺空洞又不知道拿什麼來填充，又或者其實內心是個無底洞，老是想用自己的已知去填充未知的迷惘。不知道該做什麼的當下，我就從我最喜歡的Continuum這張專輯把歌詞一首一首翻出來看，這才發現蔣梅爾在歌曲排列的用心。
儘管蔣梅爾的才華洋溢，他最終還是毀於自己花花大少的不良名聲上。突然蹦出這句是因為我從歌單上也可以看出他情感觀念的轉變，尤其是對最後一首歌更是嗤之以鼻。對比之前Room For Square的純情感，這張專輯實在太過世故。請容我將歌曲從頭一首一首往下翻，你們就知道怎麼回事了。
